If you're just starting out in astrophotography, or you're trying out something new and
you're particularly pleased with a pic you've taken send a copy and I'll post it here

M51, The Whirlpool Galaxy
After a long break from imaging I decided to learn a bit about it, and
this is my 1st attempt at "proper" deep sky imaging after watching
Matt Taylor's DSI tutorials and trying out Noel Carboni's Photoshop
Tools. 35 x 40 second exposures, processed in Photoshop

M63, The Sunflower Galaxy
A reasonable image captured only 50 degrees from a hideously bright 85% full Moon.
Bearing this in mind I'm quite pleased with the result
50 x 40 second exposures Drizzled in Envisage & processed in Photoshop

M81, Bode's Galaxy
I'm very happy with this one. It's probably my best pic to date
Captured with my DSI II-C, stacked in Envisage,
further processing in Photoshop
48 x 50 second exposures

The Moon
Ok. This was my very 1st bash at taking astro pics. During a Lunar observing session
it was captured by simply holding my Nikon Coolpix 3100 to the eyepiece of my
Orion Optics Europa 200. It was processed in Photoshop. Whilst it's basic it
demonstrates what can be achieved with no specialised imaging kit, no experience
and just a basic compact camera.

More Moon Shots
My 1st attempt with my recently acquired Unmodified Toucam Pro PCVC 740k
Taken at prime focus through my OO 200mm Newt. Captured using K3CCD Tools.
Processed in Registax with a bit of contrast tweaking in Iphoto Express

Northern Mare Imbrium and Mare Frigoris
Had another bash at the moon this time with my Orion Optics DX300
This is my best lunar pic so far. Best 100 frames of 2000
Captured with my Toucam Pro II, processed in K3CCD

Mars
Taken at F24 with my Unmodified Toucam Pro PCVC 740k, through
my Orion Optics 200mm Europa Newt. Captured using K3CCD Tools
Best 700 frames from 7200. Processed in Registax with a bit of
contrast tweaking in Iphoto Express

Saturn
An Excellent pic of Saturn by Tim Colegate-Smith
Taken using an unmodified Toucam Pro & Orion Optics SPX300.
Stacked & processed in Registax

Saturn again
My 1st bash at Saturn and I'm very pleased for a 1st attempt. The cloud belt in the Southern Temperate
Zone is clearly shown (South is up) and the Cassini Division although not very clear can also be seen
Taken at prime focus with my Unmodified Toucam Pro PCVC 740k,
through my Orion Optics 200mm Europa Newt. Captured using K3CCD Tools.
Processed in Registax with a bit of contrast tweaking in Iphoto Express

And again...
This was my 1st go at imaging with my Orion Optics
DX300 F4. 4x Barlowed to achieve F16, this was Captured
with my Toucam Pro and processed in Registax

Jupiter
Taken using an unmodified Toucam Pro & Orion Optics SPX300.
Stacked & processed in Registax
Another excellent example by Tim Colegate-Smith

M57, The Ring Nebula
Hmm...
After a number of failures here is my 1st (reasonably) successful
attempt at going deep with my DSI II colour cam & OO Europa 200
Not great but it's a pic (just...)
A very basic short exposure jpeg without any dark frame subtraction
so plenty of room for improvement, but it'll do for now!!
Processed in Photoshop

M13, The Great Globular Cluster in Hercules
Second attempt at deep sky imaging
Captured with my DSI II. This time trying to get
to grips with dark frame subtraction and wrestling
with slightly longer exposures. I captured 40 x 10 second
exposures and had Meade Envisage align &
stack them automatically. Processed in Photoshop

NGC7662, The Blue Snowball Nebula
1st deep sky offering from Tim Colegate-Smith. Taken through a 10" Meade LX200R, using
a Starlight Xpress MX7C CCD camera. 2 x 30s images, combined & processed with
Starlight Xpress software

M51, The Whirlpool Galaxy
2nd DSO by Tim Colegate-Smith. Taken with his 10"
Meade LX200R and a Starlight Xpress MX7C colour camera

Sunspot
I finally managed to capture a sunspot after waiting weeks
for one to appear. I used my Orion optics 200mm newt,
stopped down to 60mm, my Toucam Pro & Baader Solar Film
Captured using K3CCD then Stacked and processed as a
monochrome image in Registax
Don't look at the sun through your telescope. Let your camera do it so you don't have to!!
